Readings-R-Us
Not to toot our own horn, and we're not sure exactly how it's happened, but it seems we're getting quite a reputation for hosting a quality reading series. We've certainly been impressed by everyone who has read for us, and by the fact they agreed to read for us in the first place. This month of October was no exception. Heather Abel, acclaimed essayist and soon-to-be-acclaimed novelist was our first reader for our October reading. Abigail Thomas, author of many wonderful works of fiction and nonfiction, and most recently, a beautiful memoir entitled A Three Dog Life (you may have read an excerpt of it in The New York Times) was our second.

Paragraph readings are so much fun!

Abby is greeted by admirers and old friends.

Heather can't believe that every single chair is full and people are still filing in.

Heather reads from her upcoming novel.

A captive and captivated audience.

Abby reads from A Three Dog Life

Everyone retires to the kitchen for two-buck-chuck and pate.
