Paragraph is honored to host a reading with outstanding novelists Roxana Robinson and Rachel Cline at Clay, followed by a wine and cheese reception at Paragraph. Free and open to the public.

Roxana Robinson is the author of Cost, a novel about a family’s struggle with a son’s heroin addiction, which was hailed by Robert Stone as "an important timely book that furthers our insight into our present fortunes and dilemmas." She is also the author of the novels Sweetwater and This Is My Daughter, as well as a biography of Georgia O’Keefe and two short story collections: A Glimpse of Scarlet and A Perfect Stranger. Jonathan Yardley has deemed Robinson to be "one of our best writers," and Billy Collins has praised her as "a master at moving from the art of description to the work of excavating the truths about ourselves." In addition to her many books, she has written for The New Yorker, Harper's Magazine, and Vogue, among other magazines.

Rachel Cline's new novel, My Liar, is set in Hollywood in the 1990s and illuminates the world of movie-making with keen insight and wry wit. According to Booklist, Cline has the "ability to expertly render complex characters entangled in uneasy alliances." Her debut, What to Keep, was hailed as "striking and lovely" by Entertainment Weekly and "tangibly real" by Los Angeles Times. Her nonfiction work has been published in the New York Times Magazine, Tin House, New York Magazine, and other publications, as well as in the recent essay collection, Brooklyn Was Mine.
