  • Paragraph: Workspace for Writers 35 West 14th Street New York, NY, 10011 United States (map)

Maydé Alpi,  the Development Executive at Jane Startz Productions (JSP), is looking for humorous, grounded, and diverse YA and Middle Grade voices for film and television adaptation. Great world building, authentic prose, and unique styles are some of the elements that Maydé looks for when considering pieces for adaptation. She loves the works of Sara Pennypacker, Rainbow Rowell, David Arnold, Jakob Wegelius, Jason Reynolds, and Pam Muñoz Ryan among others.

JSP's credits include the major theatrical releases Ella EnchantedTuck Everlasting, The Indian In The Cupboard, The Mighty, The Baby-Sitters’ Club, Netflix's upcoming pre-school animated series Llama, Llama starring Jennifer Garner, and Universal's upcoming feature adaptation of Soman Chainani's The School for Good and Evil. Jane Startz also developed and served as Executive Producer on the multi Emmy Award-winning television series, The Magic School Bus, which became a major franchise and the longest-running science series in broadcast history.

For the past five years JSP has also represented a roster of authors including Soman Chainani, Elise Allen, Daryle Conners, and Sheetal Sheth and developed their IP into critically acclaimed picture, middle-grade and YA books with the goal of media adaptation.
